Checking Ready for Rescue Status

Beside the on/off button you should see a green checkmark that will indicate the AED is Ready For Rescue.

If the window to the right of the on/off button is blank and the checkmark is absent, the AED is not Ready for Rescue.

Ready for Rescue Symbol

Battery Expiry

On the back of the Zoll 3, you will see a white label. The install by date is in the bottom left corner of this white label immediately to the right of (15). The first two numbers are the day, the next two are the month, and the last two are the year. Once the battery charge is low, the AED will either ‘beep’ once a minute in off mode, or say “change battery” in on mode. Additionally, the status indicator window beside the on/off button on the front of the AED will be blank if the battery is low or requires changing.

If you have installed a new battery and new defibrillation pads and the green checkmark does not show in the status indicator window, remove the AED from service and contact Action First Aid or ZOLL Technical Service.

Pad Expiry

Located on the defibrillator pads to the right of the hourglass symbol in year-month-day format (eg. 2024-04-19) as shown below.
If your Zoll 3 AED is beeping once every minute, or the green checkmark is absent, ensure pads are not expired and are firmly plugged into the AED.

If pads are not expired and are plugged in firmly, check the battery as described above and if the green checkmark is absent, remove AED from service and immediately seek technical support.

Serial Number

The ZOLL 3 serial number can be found on the back of the defibrillator immediately above the left corner of the ZOLL AED 3 Battery Pack as seen here below.
