I feel so much more comfortable with first aid than I did leading up to the in person training. He is so funny, engaging and informative. He is very good with people. He will make you laugh while teaching you something, so that you remember easier, rather than only reading a module online. He is very serious about the criteria and will push people to find the right answer on their own. He will obviously answer questions as asked, but he will always encourage people to think. Which I think is a HUGE quality to have as a teacher. Also the fact that he is a retired police officer makes a huge difference. He has been in the field, in these situations, he's had his experiences. As a proud daughter of a retired police officer.. hearing Peters stories, engaging with him, and learning from him.. it hit home for me. Having the training that I have now from Action First Aid and from Peter himself doing such a great job, I feel I can help someone if need be, God forbid.

I liked that it is blended so I could do the online learning at my own pace before booking my in-class session in Barrie.

It was very hands-on and interactive and the instructor, Jesse, was great. I also like that he is an actual Firefighter, so he has some real life experience to pull from while teaching. He was knowledgeable, patient, and had a sense of humour. He also took the time to explain things and answer questions.

Our instructor, Carmen, was amazing. Through hands on scenarios and real life examples, I always felt engaged in the class and never bored. There was 14 participants in the class with a great clean facility in Barrie, Ontario. Our instructor, Peter was a fast talker but super informative and provided a super thorough knowledge base for a wide arrange of medical emergencies. For nearly every topic, we were provided some surprise medical scenarios that we had to act out and respond to; considering new factors to keep ourselves safe and ‘save’ or tend to medical issues that our partner may have. It was super interactive and fun and really helped get us thinking while learning the material. We had a great class of students and Peter certainly kept us engaged in fun roles while learning the necessary first aid treatment. Peter was up to date with new techniques that seem to be ever-changing in the medical field. It made me feel confident and prepared to deal with medical emergencies I may encounter in my dangerous work environment and be able to potentially save a life if I were to witness someone in need.
