Action First Aid Inc. has been in business since 1997. The company was originally named “Vitality” and changed the name to Action First Aid in 2004 when it became incorporated. The company is solely owned and operated by Deb & Roger Hennig.

Action First Aid Inc, was started by Deb Hennig, in 1997. As a high school PhysED, Science and Outdoor Education teacher in York Region, Deb believed in the importance of having students trained in CPR. She initiated a program within her school by which students could receive training and certification from a Heart & Stroke instructor. While watching and helping facilitate the programs, Deb decided that is exactly what she wanted to become more involved in, while starting a family. Her keen interest in health promotion and disease prevention was top of mind and so began the business.

Deb never looked back and within a few years of teaching programs for the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Metro Toronto Ambulance, Deb decided to develop her own, WSIB approved program as she believed in the importance of the training and was passionate about delivering the material in a highly interactive, professional and fun manner.

While juggling a growing business and three young children, Deb’s husband Roger, left a high school teaching career to help manage the business, deliver the training and service the growing client base. Prior to teaching PhysEd, Roger played five years in the CFL which strengthened his understanding and interest in nutrition, sports injuries and first aid.

Today, Action First Aid has grown to become one of the largest WSIB approved private training agencies in Ontario and continues to prioritize exceptional customer service along with the delivery of a unique, scenario based training program.

Roger and Deb credit the success of their growing business entirely to the people they choose to surround themselves with. Seeking out positive, professional instructors and office personnel, is the keystone to our continued success. We are a real family and we love to come to work everyday and be surrounded by the good energy our staff bring each and every day. Daily, we hear stories from our clients about how impactful the training has been and this keeps us all believing in what we are doing and continuously striving to be even better.

Action First Aid has over 60 full and part time instrutors, which allow us to service our client base across the country, in a timely and efficient manner. It has been critical over the years to grow, re-invest and restructure our team in order to guarantee the high standard of service we promise to deliver.

Action First Aid is also Federally approved and has been contracted to implement defibrillator programs for larger companies across the country. Action First Aid has clients in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, & Nova Scotia.
